I am curious how you guys feel about CXP and changes to gear rewards.

I find myself in a very strange place. I want to be open to this new system because it's a different way about rewarding gameplay. But....I am a conditioned gamer that has always had tangible rewards to work towards no matter the system until now. Now it is straight up gambling. I think that's what bothers me the most. I could get 7 chestpieces in a row or a bunch of green crap.

Originally I was excited because I thought it was going to be still based on the crystals and that we would earn them at different rates for solo, group, raid etc. I was happy to accept it taking longer to gear if I soloed my way up. I could then buy pieces as I progressed. But now if I have some bad luck and solo grind this I got 7 chestpieces and I am SoL.

I'm not looking for it to be faster just not relying RNG.

And the fact that it isn't legacy wide, considering how many alts we all have, is mind boggling. They just ran a friggin 6 month event having people level 8 alts!

I find myself really wanting to play despite the lack of new content but this reward process really makes me feel weird about this game.

Do your experiences so far give you less to worry about....The highest I have is CXP lvl 9 and have one 230 implant.

I'm very disillusioned with the system they've put in place. However, crafting is now more important than ever: the bind-to-legacy schematics are the new gear token.

I'm up to Command Level 25 and the grind is only getting worse. I've got two "raid quality" pieces, the rest have been blues and greens. I don't how how they expect us to happily level up to 100--let alone 300--on every character to gain access to chances for better loot.

The biggest motivating factor I have is from what I've read from Dulfy

Tier 1 has the biggest differences in CXP, so once you break through to tier 2, advancing becomes much easier because the difference between ranks are only 10 CXP. So I'm really focusing on just trying to get to Tier 2, which presumably has better drops gear-wise, and you'll gear faster. But yeah, it feels really weird after being so used to the comms method for so long.

On the bright side, I've seen an increase in GSF pops. Could this be connected? IDK.

EDIT: I now realise I am wrong. I thought that at rank 2 you would only need 10 CXP to advance, but now I realize the difference only increases by 10 CXP. This is not gonna be a fun grind 😣

After some experience this system is as bad as I feared. I did discover GSF actually gives pretty good cxp if you get the pops. Which is ironic because gsf benefits absolutely zero from any rewards in galactic command. I was getting anywhere from 600-1100 cxp per match.

Out of 55 total cxp levels on 3 characters I have 1 set piece and one relic that I can make... and they are f$&@&$ 230 level... there 4 tiers of gear above this and this is all I have to show for 55 levels!

I'd really like to have a dps a tank and a healer but screw this. Maybe I'll continue with a dos but damn.
I never ever thought I would say this but WoW is so much better now as an MMO. I can't believe I put that in writing. Mind you Legion is one of the best mmo expansions I've ever seen.
